Smoke and Fire Curtains Ltd are compliant to the Directive by completing all the testing requirements to CE mark our systems to the CE marking to Active Fire Curtains: Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC).
Active Fire Curtain products are classed as ‘machines’ in accordance with the UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 (SMR08) and the Machinery Directive (MD) 2006/42/EC, because they meet the fundamental definition of machinery:
“an assembly, fitted with or intended to be fitted with a drive system other than directly applied human or animal effort, consisting of linked parts or components, at least one of which moves, and which are joined together for a specific application.”
